Owner and Manager of Promethean concrete Raphael Read is a devoted husband and a loving father of two.
He has 20 years experience in the building industry. Starting as an apprentice carpenter at 15 years old, he has become very proficient in Carpentry, architectural building and management. He was recently a Co-Director and building manager of the local building company, House Workshop, that has built 18+ homes in the region.
During his time with House workshop, Rapha made a decision to personally set up a team to take on the concrete house slabs for the homes they were building. This decision came from he’s desire to control the quality and finish of the finished product in order to give his clients the best quality home with a burnished and insulated concrete slab, coated in natural oils, these slabs being a fundamental element of the high performing passive solar homes he produced.
Rapha became inspired working with concrete, finding the level of precision and physical and mental challenge thrilling and fulfilling. He is committed to a high level of communication, service and quality of product. Always striving to improve and develop more skill and knowledge in the application and use of concrete, and to stay on the leading edge of development of more sustainable and environmentally conscious concrete alternatives.
